John Olver's opponent at our next meeting.

Nate Bech Republican candidate for U.S. Congress, will be appearing at our next meeting Monday April 21st at 7:00 pm.

Nate is a Springfield native, who now lives in West Springfield. Nate attended Colgate University in upstate New York and graduated in 1999 with a Bachelor's degree in political science. During his college years I he spent two summers in Philadelphia working with inner-city kids. That was an eye-opening experience. he also spent a month one summer in the Gaza Strip. He has spent time learning about the Israeli-Palestinian conflict ever since.

He is also a veteran who spent three-year contract as a lieutenant in the Tenth Mountain Division at Fort Drum, New York. During that time he served in Afghanistan and in Iraq. After completing his Army service, he returned to the Middle East to continue learning about the region. He lived and studied in Cairo, Bethlehem, and Jerusalem.

Please come out and support this candidate.

We need to get out and help Nate collect signatures over the next two weeks. Nate is in our age group and it would be nice to have someone who represents US in congress. The idea having someone who can identify with issues affecting young people would be refreshing. Our youngest congressman in Massachusetts is going to be Fifty, Congressman Olver is going to be Seventy-Two in September.
I'm sure Congressman Olver has a lot in common with our average twenty or thirty somethings in MA.

This meeting will be open to ALL Republicans, not just young ones!

St. Patricks Day Parade & other news.

Last Sunday we had the pleasure of marching in the St. Patricks day parade with U.S. Senate Candidate Jeff Beatty. Jeff was joined by a large contingent of supporters and a tank. Jeff is one of two Republicans running for John Kerry's seat. I am very happy with our Senate candidates, both of them know where western Mass is located! Unlike Senator Kerry.

Keeping a sharp eye out for John Kerry.

Eastlongmeadow Election Update.

I received this Picture of Eastlongmeadow Selectman candidate Ron Cutler in a confrontation with Current Selectman Jim Driscoll. According to the email I received. This picture was taken at a candidates forum that Jack Villamaino was not in attendance. It also stated that Selectman Driscoll has be attacking Ron Cutler on Local Access in Easlongmeadow.

Political Mixer

Last Thursdays political mixer with the Massachusetts Republican Municipal Coalition PAC and WMYR'S was a success. We had about fifty people in attendance, including U.S. Senate candidate Jim Ogonowski.

Jim Ogonowski talking with John Lysak

It was a very exciting evening, not only did we have Jim in Attendance but also we heard from Jeff Beatty's campaign Manager. The main part of the evening was to Honor State Rep. Mary Rogeness. She was presented a plaque from MRMC member Chanel Prunier.

Members of the YR's and MRMC with Mary Rogeness

We also had quite a few different Republican Delegates from all over the Commonwealth. Including State Rep. Don Humason and MFYR's State Chairman Rich Wheeler, and a slew of local candidates for office.

It was a great evening and I am looking forward to more events like this over the coming year.

JEFF BEATTY is looking for a few good men and woman to march in the Holyoke Saint Patrick’s Parade!
Jeff Beatty is sponsoring a U.S. ARMY TANK!!!
This will be a great time, so please volunteer; we want to have 100 marchers
as a show of grass route support…
The Victory Van will be staged and be serving refreshments!!
The Holyoke Parade requires all marchers to be in uniform, we are asking for blue jeans/slacks, and TEAM BEATTY will be supplying the SWEAT SHIRTS and BEATTY BALL CAPS.

Please confirm your attendance as we have to expend approximately
$50.00 per person to outfit our participants…
(Of course a campaign donation to off set this expense would be sincerely appreciated.. Smile)

We hope to see you all in Holyoke on March 30th 2008, more details will be provided to those marchers as we receive your names

McCain in Mass.

As of last night John McCain is now the Republican nominee for President. After receiving an endorsement today from President George W. Bush; he has decided to to visit the all important Republican state of Massachusetts.

I received an Invitation today from Amber Hillman (daughter of Reed Hillman) here is a copy of it:

The event will be held on Wednesday March 12th 6:00pm, at the Taj Hotel in Boston. The cost for the event is $1000, but there is a significant discount for Young Republicans, which brings the cost to $250. This would be a good event if you want to show your support for the Party.

If you are interested please contact Amber Hillman at : amber.hillman@gmail.com

Why would McCain come to a blue state such as Mass?

Could it be that he's courting a VP? John McCain has not been able to raise substantial amounts of money. He only raised 12 million last month compared the 30 mil + raised by his Democratic counterparts. Having a certain politician from MA would be good for his war chest.

Could we be seeing the start of a McCain/Romney 08 Ticket?
